You’re in the Wright Place!

Robert Winn House (1948)

The Robert D. Winn House, designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, stands as a gem of mid-century modern architecture in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It is one of four Wright-designed houses built in the area known as “Parkwyn Village.” The design incorporates Wright’s signature elements like horizontal planes and cantilevered structures. The house also features a curved form, similar to another Wright design, the Kenneth Laurent Residence in Illinois. Notably, the Winn House boasts a screened-in porch that juts out over a hillside, blurring the lines between interior and exterior space.

The Winn House is currently for sale. View the property listing at Zillow.

About Me

Yvonne Carpenter-Ross

FLW Enthusiast & Webmaster

Architecture and home design have always fascinated me. As a young girl I enjoyed drawing floor plans, rearranging my parent’s furniture and playing with Lincoln Logs and Legos.  My passion has always been the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Since I have been old enough to drive a car, I have visited Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the Chicagoland area and attended the Wright Plus house walks. Now, as co-owners of Northern Sky Designs, my husband & I are able to combine our website design skills and FLW travels to bring you this website! Enjoy!
