Anderson Residence (Aaron Green)

no image available

In 1959, Aaron G. Green designed the Judge & Jeannie Anderson Residence, an oceanfront estate with panoramic Pacific views. A former disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright, Green’s design exemplifies his “Organic Modernism.”

The home features a V-shaped plan with sharply gabled rooflines that seem to float. Inside, spaces transition from a deeply recessed entryway to dramatic openness, with sweeping ocean views appearing unexpectedly. A private bedroom wing and public living areas—including the living room, dining room, and a kitchen designed to blend with the built-in furniture—are clearly defined.

The sunken living room, a key feature, includes original built-in seating, architect-designed furniture, a massive stone fireplace, and mitered corner glass walls for unobstructed views. In 2003, updates were made to the primary bath, the pool and spa tub by architect Eric Lloyd Wright (son of Frank Lloyd Wright Jr and grandson of Frank Lloyd Wright.) These updates were respectful of Green’s original design and the surrounding landscape. With both canyon and ocean frontage, the Anderson Residence offers incredible privacy and serenity.

Location

The Anderson Residence is located at 8 Sea Cove Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
